Peter Earnest, Executive Director, provides a spy’s eye view from his distinguished career and informed opinions on current events. During his 35 years in CIA He served as a case officer in its Clandestine Service, primarily in Europe and the Middle East. He ran intelligence collection and covert action operations against a range of targets including Soviet Bloc representatives and Communist front organizations. He also served as an Inspector with the Inspector General, liaison with the U.S. Senate, and director of media relations and spokesman. A member of the Senior Intelligence Service, he received the CIA’s Medal of Merit and Career Intelligence Medal.
Thomas Boghardt, Historian. Before joining the Museum, Thomas researched and lectured on intelligence, international relations and European history at the University of Oxford, Georgetown University, and the Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan. His comments on a wide range of intelligence-related issues have appeared in the Washington Post, New York Daily News, on ABC, BBC, CNN, FOX, and other media outlets. His latest book is Spies of the Kaiser: German Covert Operations in Great Britain during the First World War Era (Palgrave Macmillan, 2005). He received his PhD in modern history from the University of Oxford.
